Founded 1990 - TASC (Taoist Alchemical Studies Centre) is the place where ancient Chinese Taoist science and practices seamlessly integrate with contemporary research and targeted applications. The TASC staff is highly professional and extensively trained in both Western and Taoist sciences. We approach our work with deep respect for Chinese and Taoist traditions and oppose diluting their essence with uninformed Western interpretations. Therefore, we emphasize the Chinese context and teach our students to think from a Chinese and Taoist perspective. Prof. Dr. Vercammen has developed various methods for this purpose and has delivered highly engaging lectures and practical sessions at China Arts College. In China, Vercammen is even known as "more Chinese than the Chinese."
Founded 1990 - China Arts College (Taoiststudies.org) offers everything a discerning student and aspiring Taoist needs. Here you learn freedom in thought and action by breaking through imposed limitations. You'll feel the difference that Taoist training and philosophy of life bring to your life, as you work to form firm, stable roots that will help you get through even the toughest of times. You can learn to resolve your inner conflicts because they bring you into conflict with others and with your life circumstances. An old Taoist saying goes, "Your fate depends on yourself, not on heaven." So, it's best to take your life into your own hands before it escapes you completely. Based on Taoist practices, you can learn to roam the world of your body and enjoy "being on your way"!
Evolved from China Arts College & TASC in 2025, Taoiststudies.org, previously known as China Arts College, is a Belgian non-profit organization that is politically and financially independent. Our mission is to provide and disseminate education, scientific research, and general information about Taoist and Chinese culture. As a non-profit, our funding is derived from participant fees for activities organized by our affiliated organizations and from the sale of our publications. In essence, your contributions are reinvested into delivering high-quality education, research, and publications. TaoistStudies.org collaborates with partners to enhance your experience in Taoist and Chinese culture, martial arts, fine arts, and calligraphy by giving workshops and classes with these long-term partners and (former) students in the Netherlands and Belgium.
